Cracow Art Week KRAKERS is a communication platform that is a meeting of independent art centers and the inhabitants of Krakow. The slogan of this year's 10th edition is (NO) HOPE and is a response to the prevailing pandemic situation. It oscillates around two opposing, utopian visions: giving hope for the future or definitely taking it away. The topic points to many interpretative clues: it draws our attention to economics or ecology, but also explores social and artistic topics.

As part of the event on Saturday, June 19th, at 15.30, in the "Under the Ravens" Room of the International Cultural Centre, a discussion panel will be held. Is Krakers needed by art academies?

SPEAKERS: prof. dr hab. Andrzej Bednarczyk, prof. UP dr hab. Alicja Panasiewicz, dr hab. Bogusław Bachorczyk

MODERATION: Dr. Agnieszka Jankowska-Marzec

In connection with the tenth edition of "Krakers" this year, the invited panelists will discuss the role it plays in the community of art academies in Krakow. How it affects the activation of students and lecturers, broadening their knowledge of contemporary art and organizing curatorial exhibitions. The current, jubilee edition of "Krakers" is taking place during a pandemic that has lasted for a year, so it also seems justified to raise the issue of the presence of art in the world changed by COVID-19. Are the current ways of presenting art still needed? Will the "Krakers" formula also be redefined?
