On 26 May 2022, the ICC was visited by the representant of the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Kolkata, Joydeep Roy. During his visit, he met with Łukasz Galusek,  Deputy Director for Programme Policy of the ICC and Dr. Michał Wiśniewski, Head of the Educational Department – The Academy of Heritage. The meeting concerned joint Polish-Indian projects that could be realised at the ICC in the coming years.

It is worth recalling that in 2008, Professor Jacek Purchla, the founder and director of the ICC at that time, was a guest at the “Asian Regional Cooperation Conference”. The conference was organised in New Delhi by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), the largest institution on the subcontinent dealing with the protection of cultural heritage.

The cooperation established in this way and the memorandum on scientific and educational cooperation between the ICC and INTACH, signed in Krakow, whose aim was to undertake joint activities for research and education in the field of conservation and management of cultural and natural heritage, was continued uninterruptedly. In 2010, a study visit of a 5-member delegation of Indian conservators and educators took place; a pilot programme involving the exchange of experience and good practices related to heritage management and protection in Poland and India. In 2011 a visit of a Polish delegation to India took place, while in 2012 a study visit of five INTACH representatives to Poland and Slovakia.

For several years the cooperation has been developing thanks to the involvement of Joydeep Roy, the representant of the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Kolkata. Representatives of the ICC have participated several times in online meetings devoted to the cultural heritage of Poland and India - on 2 February 2022 Łukasz Galusek, Deputy Director for Programme Policy of the ICC and Dr. Michał Wiśniewski, Head of the Educational Department – The Academy of Heritage were guests of an international webinar devoted to the study of the cultural heritage of historic cities in Poland and India.
