28 March, 6 pm

Join us on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 pm for a discussion about the novel “Turkish Mirror” by Viktor Horvath, awarded the European Union Prize for Literature in 2012.

Is it possible to pass through a mirror? What can you see from the other side? The Hungarian writer, Viktor Horvath, proposes this kind of mental exercise. We take a look at the European culture of the 16th century from the point of view of Isa – a Turkish nobleman and Muslim. The action takes place in southern Hungary, governed by the Ottoman Turkey. What comes to view when we take Horvath’s perspective? Is this only a difficult moment in the history of Hungary?

We encourage participants to register in advance at the following e-mail address: j.burnatowski@mck.krakow.pl in order to get assistance in accessing the text (or fragments thereof) to be discussed at the meeting.

Let's meet in a common space of reading and talking. Let's meet at the ICC.
