Bauhaus phenomenon – design as a field of experiment
The Bauhaus was opened in 1919 in Weimar as a state school for artists and craftsmen. Until its seat in Berlin was closed in 1933 by the National Socialists, the school managed to become a symbol of progress and modernity. As the following decades have shown, its influence has gone far beyond the time limit of the first half of the 20th century and the borders of Germany.
Architectural icons of the present time
The exhibition Lviv, 24th June 1937.City, architecture, modernism was presented at the ICC Gallery at the turn of 2017 and 2018. Its subject matter will be a pretext to discuss the transformations of the architectural landscape of Polish cities and to search for an answer to the question of how it changed along with the political and economic transformation after 1989, and later with Poland's accession to the European Union.
Architecture and ideology – lecture from the At a distance series
Some of the Nazi plans for architectural reconstruction in Poland were carried out during the war, others remained on paper. Some structures still bear their embarrassing stigma, but many have blended in with their surroundings.

The Cézanne effect. Bloomsbury Group and French painting at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries
Bloomsbury is not only one of the boroughs of London. This name also covers a group of artists, writers and intellectuals who opened English culture and art in the Victorian era to a new aesthetic and artistic fascination. A special role was played by Roger Fry, who, thanks to his close professional contacts with the French artistic bohemia, became an important link between the Bloomsbury community and the circle of post-impressionists active in France.

During the lecture inaugurating the series of Decades with Art , selected projects from the area of 20th-century architecture and art will be presented, exemplifying the model of thinking about the relationship between a work and a place. A meeting related to the exhibition Printmaking as a Pair. Jadwiga Kaim-Otręba and Ryszard Otręba , concern the beginnings of education in the field of graphic design and visual communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

The first lecture in the new year will be an opportunity to learn about the artistic biography of this iconic pair of Krakow artists. Through art, we will also get closer to their everyday life - the realities of creative work, the artistic milieu they co-created, or ties with the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts.

The premiere of the film "Orient and Krakow. Walks around multicultural Krakow ”directed by Tomasz Mielnik. The script was prepared by Adam Balcer in cooperation with Jarosław Kociszewski. The screening was preceded by a conversation between Łukasz Galusk and Adam Balcer, the initiator of the film and its narrator.
