Call for Applications for the 15th Edition of the V4 Heritage Academy summer school

Applications are now being accepted for the V4 Heritage Academy educational program: Management of UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites in Visegrad Countries 2026. This year’s edition will take place from June 29 to July 4 in Rožňava and will focus on the heritage of Gemer, a region in southern Slovakia. Its main themes will be the preservation and promotion of late medieval architecture, as well as the creation and management of cultural routes.

Who is the summer school program intended for?

The program is intended for heritage sector professionals, researchers, and students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary who are involved in the preservation of cultural heritage. Participants in the V4 Heritage Academy summer school will take part in workshops and have the opportunity to explore current topics related to the preservation of architectural monuments. The event will serve as an opportunity to exchange knowledge and promote best practices in the preservation and promotion of cultural and natural heritage.

We invite professionals in the cultural sector, researchers, and students from Poland to apply for the 15th edition of the V4 Heritage Academy summer school, which will take place from June 29 to July 4, 2026.

What are the highlights of the V4 Heritage Academy program?

In addition to discussions and lectures, the six-day V4 Heritage Academy 2026 program will also include study visits to selected sites in the region that have undergone significant changes in recent years and have been the focus of numerous conservation projects.

The V4 Heritage Academy summer school is organized by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków and the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Gotická cesta organization. The event’s partners are the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Construction and Transport of Hungary.

How to apply?

The ICC invites individuals working in the field of heritage in Poland to submit applications to participate in the V4 Heritage Academy summer school 2026, taking place from June 29 to July 4, 2026. The project will include 20 participants from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, five from each country.

Applications must be submitted by email by May 24 to: m.swidrak@mck.krakow.pl. Selection results will be announced by May 30.

All costs associated with participation in the program are covered by the organizer (including: hotels, meals and transportation within Slovakia).
