At a distance. "Jan Pamuła. System - emotions - universe"

In the first meeting after summer as part of the Catch Distance series, we invite you to a lecture about prof. Janie Pamule, an outstanding representative of the geometric trend of abstraction, a pioneer of Polish computer art. The lecture is the result of cooperation between the International Cultural Center and the Museum of Art in Olomouc (MUO), where a retrospective presentation of the artist's works takes place from June 2 to January 2, 2022.


The lecture, which will be conducted by Beata Gawrońska-Oramus, curator of Jan Pamuła's exhibition in Olomouc, will be complemented by the artist's computer animations, a report from the exhibition of his concept sketches, paintings, objects, graphics and lightboxes, currently taking place as part of the Universum | Trienále SEFO 2021 and excerpts from Jan Pamuła's conversation with the outstanding Czech mathematician prof. Jan Andres.


The lecture will be held on September 9 at 19 on the MCC profile on Facebook and will be made available on YouTube.


The lecture is part of the SEFO 2021 Contemporary Art Triennial organized by the Art Museum in Olomouc. MUO invited the education departments of SEFO partner institutions, which for years have been caring for cultural cooperation in Central Europe, including the International Cultural Center. The aim of the Triennial is to introduce the guests of these institutions to the particular themes of its main exhibition and to make them interpret the selected issue on their own.


Prof. Jan Pamuła is a versatile artist, painter, graphic artist, art theorist, artist using traditional techniques and digital media. His works are created in contact with the place, cultural and spiritual space of various areas of the globe.
