Art meets business. Partnership?

Are culture and business two separate sectors whose paths never cross? Or rather, are they two domains from whose mutual cooperation both sides could profit? If so, are their representatives aware of the potential of common actions? An inseparable tool of every cultural manager is a database with contact details of people representing private companies, corporations, financial institutions. But is it reciprocated? Do the people responsible for the image, public relations and sponsorship in these companies own databases comprising contacts to curators or directors of cultural institutions? Does a natural sphere of contact between the world of culture and the world of business exist?
