The International Cultural Centre invites participants for city tours around Krakow with interpreting into the Polish sign language. The theme will be the architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries and the everyday life of the city's inhabitants.

Tour list:

March 18, at 12:00

Dębniki. The town of villas and bats

Tour guide: Beata Bujak-Szwaczka

Interpreter: Jakub Studziński
Meeting point: 2 Powroźnicza Street, Beata Matejkówna's mansion

A walk along the route of villas and palaces built in the 19th and 20th centuries in the area of Stare Dębniki. The participants will learn about the first residents of the area, located in the bend of the Vistula River, opposite the Wawel Castle.

April 1, at 12:00

Main Square. After the ashes of the fire of 1850

Tour guide: Joanna Majewska-Grabowska

Interpreter: Jakub Studziński
Meeting point: 17 Rynek Główny, next to Hetman's House

A walk dedicated to the development of Krakow after the 19th-century crisis and the great fire that destroyed a large part of the city centre. Many of the buildings we see every day are only complete or partial reconstructions: although the medieval walls of the Franciscan and Dominican basilicas have been preserved, their interior is the result of a 19th-century restoration.

April 22
, at 12:00

Grzegórzki. A walk along the old riverbed of the Vistula

Tour guide: Iwona Malota

Interpreter: Jakub Studziński
Meeting point: 9 Blich street, close to the railway bridge

During the tour, participants will learn about the everyday life of the inhabitants of Grzegórzki in the 19th and 20th centuries, the district’s famous features, and the role the Vistula River played in the district’s life. The tour guide will talk about the most important buildings: their history, their architectural styles, their functions, as well as about the architects who designed them.

We invite everyone who would like to explore Krakow with us, and especially people who use Polish sign language.

The paricipation is free, pre-booking required at: a.klejzerowicz@mck.krakow.pl
