Oil seminar at the International Cultural Centre in Krakow

On April 24-25, the ICC hosted an expert seminar related to the exhibition being prepared under the working title “Galician Oil”.

During the oil seminar, experts discussed the shape and scenario of the exhibition being prepared by the ICC for 2027. Its theme is to focus on the fate of the people who created the oil industry in Western and Eastern Galicia. The exhibition is also to take into account the influence of the oil industry on high and popular culture, as well as current contexts related to the fuel crisis and the environmental impact of fossil fuels. The curators of the planned exhibition will be Dr. Beata Nykiel and Dr. Żanna Komar.

The expert meeting was attended by Dr. Żanna Komar (ICC), Tomasz Kuba Kozłowski (History Meeting House, Warsaw), Prof. Dr. Piotr Krzywiec (Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw), Dr. Vladyslava Moskalets (Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv), Dr. Beata Nykiel (ICC), mec. Dariusz Pado (Rzeszów), Prof. Dr. Jacek Purchla and ICC director, Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik.
