Recruitment for V4 Heritage Academy summer school

Recruitment for the V4 Heritage Academy: Management of UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites in Visegrad Countries 2025 educational program has begun, with this year's edition to be held June 23–28 in Kutná Hora. Its main theme will be the preservation of the historic cultural landscape, in accordance with the standards of the UNESCO World Heritage List.


The program is aimed at heritage professionals, scholars and students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary involved in the protection of cultural assets. Participants in the V4 Heritage Academy summer school will take part in workshops and have the opportunity to explore current topics related to the preservation of urban architectural monuments, but also surrounding parks, gardens or public spaces. In this context, they will discuss the challenges posed by climate change as well. The event will be an opportunity to exchange knowledge and promote good practices in safeguarding and promoting cultural and natural heritage.


Cultural professionals, scholars and students from Poland are invited to apply for the 14th edition of the V4 Heritage Academy summer school, which will take place from June 23-28, 2025.


In addition to discussions and lectures, the six-day program of the V4 Heritage Academy 2025 will include study visits to Kutná Hora and other sites in the region that are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List or are candidates for such an entry: Sedlec, Průhonice Park, the stud farm in Kladruby nad Labem or Kačina country house.


The organizers of the V4 Heritage Academy summer school are the International Cultural Centre in Krakow and the Kutná Hora Foundation – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Partners in the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Construction and Transport of Hungary –
Deputy State Secretariat for Architectural Strategy, and  The Monument Board of the Slovak Republic.

 

The ICC invites people working in the heritage sector in Poland to send applications to participate in the V4 Heritage Academy 2025 summer school, taking place June 23-28, 2025. 20 people from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, five from each country, will participate. Applications should be sent by email, by May 19, to m.swidrak@mck.krakow.pl. The results of the call will be announced by May 30.


All costs of participation in the program are covered by the organizer (including: hotels, meals, transportation within the Czech Republic). Participants of the V4 Heritage Academy summer school must cover only the costs of getting to Kutná Hora and returning from there.
