Cracow Art Week KRAKERS 2025 at the ICC: Autoethnographic Clusters workshop

Join us for a workshop as part of the next edition of KRAKERS. During them, participants will create their own collages, inspired by the work of Ion Bîrlădeanu and prominent Romanian artists of the 20th century. Their works can be seen in the exhibition “One eye laughs, the other cries. Art from Romania in the Collection of Ovidiu Şandor”. The event will begin with a short tour of the exhibition.

“At times I think I'm dreaming” is the catchphrase of the upcoming Cracow Art Week KRAKERS 2025, and comes from S. I. Witkiewicz's “622 Downfalls of Bungo”, a novel bordering on autobiography and auto-fiction, published only 33 years after the artist's mysterious death in 1939. Borrowing this phrase, the organizers pay tribute to Witkacy on the 140th anniversary of his birth. The slogan is also a starting point for considering the value of self-narration in contemporary art, particularly in the context of this artist's work.

Moderator:

Olka Barczak – architect, color designer, founder of CollageBlog blog. She is the author of many educational materials for designers and popular books: “#kolor”, “100 kolorów z lamusa – czyli jak działa kolor”. Together with her husband Peter (an interior designer), within the framework of CollageCollege, she has been teaching courses, trainings and workshops on various fields of creativity and teaching the language of colors for more than a dozen years. They love art, design, architecture and travel. They live in Cracow.
