The purpose of the Forum is to exchange experiences and best practices of European experts in the field of protection of cultural heritage threatened by natural and civilizational disasters, armed conflicts, terrorism and illegal trade in cultural property. They can only be countered through intensive and systemic cooperation of specialized in-stitutions and intensified efforts of government bodies of the European Union countries.

The event will include presentations and panel discussions on:

- principles of dealing with information warfare and armed conflicts

- a catalog of joint actions of the civilian community and uniformed services in the face of crises and fire threats

- regional cooperation initiatives for the benefit of endangered cultural heritage

- mechanisms of cooperation of European institutions within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism

- projects and programs for the protection of cultural heritage in the context of crises and wars

The plenary part of the Forum will be held at the International Cultural Centre, and in addition, participants will visit the Wawel Royal Castle - State Art Collection, the National Museum in Krakow - Czartoryski Museum, and St. Mary's Basilica. At the Wawel Royal Castle will be presented practical aspects of protecting the most valuable collections and the cooperation of the combined services, inspections and guards in the implementation of protection tasks.

Experts from Poland and other European countries, including Finland, Estonia, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Sweden and France, have been invited to participate in the event. The Forum also provides an opportunity to present Poland's contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage, including by remembering the profiles of Prof. Jan Zachwatowicz and Prof. Karol Estreicher, who played a key role in saving collections during World War II and in postwar reconstruction.
