On April 10, a ceremony was held at the Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała to present Prof. Ewa Chojecka with the Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis and a meeting with the researcher.

The Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała, the Upper Silesian Branch of the Art Historians Association in Katowice and the Department of Culture and Promotion of the Bielsko-Biała City Hall invited to “Conversations about Bielsko-Biała with Ms. Professor Ewa Chojecka.” The long-time president of the Upper Silesian Branch of the Association of Art Historians was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture Gloria Artis by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in November 2024. She was recognized for her pioneering research into the culture of Upper Silesia and adjacent lands, as well as the history of architecture and art of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Professor Ewa Chojecka is the author of more than 150 scientific studies of Central European art and architecture of the 19th-20th centuries, as well as numerous books, monographs and articles. For many years she worked as a lecturer at Jagiellonian and Silesian Universities, educating and inspiring multitudes of art historians and other researchers with her work. She is also a close collaborator and friend of the ICC, author of numerous publications in the ICC Publishing House and texts in HERITO magazine.
