The International Cultural Center invites you to a lecture by Prof. Helena Huber-Doudova, who will talk about female architects in Eastern and Western Europe after 1945.

Prof. Helena Huber-Doudova's lecture will focus on the feminist transformation of the architectural profession and the role of women in the profession after 1945. The speaker will compare the working conditions of female architects in democratic and people's democracies, pointing out the differences and similarities in their experiences.

Did women really have better conditions for professional development under the socialist system? What power structures does their position in the world of architecture reveal? And how did changing professional dynamics affect their place in history?

The lecture will show both the successes and obstacles that women in architecture faced - from cultural barriers to issues related to the division of labor, family roles and professional hierarchy.

You are cordially invited to attend the event, which accompanies the exhibition “Socmodernism. Architecture of Central Europe during the Cold War”.

The lecture is held in English and translated into Polish.

Admission is free.
