We are very pleased to inform you that the most advanced Alma library system with the Primo search engine is now operating at our Library. This innovative library system is used by the largest libraries in the world. In Poland, the Alma system is already successfully operating at the National Library, the Jagiellonian University, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Catholic University of Lublin, and the Provincial Public Librariesin Lublin and Kielce.

At present, several other large academic and research libraries and a numerous group of public libraries from the Lubelskie, Łódzkie and Świętokrzyskie provinces are being connected to the system. All libraries will work in one catalogue environment, thanks to which their readers will receive the widest possible access to fast and unified information about library collections located throughout Poland.

Today our library joins this group, and you will also experience the benefits of our cooperation with the National Library. Each reader will receive access to the combined catalogues of the National Library – a database containing over 25 million collection units and growing every day with recently catalogued new releases.

The Primo online catalogue allows one to quickly and easily search for collections available in our library. Convenient filters allow one to narrow the search results, so that one can quickly find the subject of interest or limit the results to those published in given year. Facilitating access to information while ensuring its highest quality – these are the features of the Alma system and the Primo search engine, available in our library starting today.

We would like to encourage you to discover the richness of Polish writing available in the Primo search engine in the combined catalogues of the National Library, where our library collections are also located. All costs of implementation and maintenance of the system are covered by the National Library – the operator of Priority 1. Direction of Intervention 1.2. Building a nationwide library network through an integrated library resource management system of the Multiannual Programme "National Readership Development Programme 2.0 for 2021-2025". The implementation of the Alma system and the Primo search engine in our library was organised by the National Library together with the staff members of the International Cultural Centre Library.

With financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the frameworks of the National Readership Development Programme 2.0 for 2021-2025.
