Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik re-elected to the position of the ICC Director

Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik was re-elected for another five years, starting from 2 January 2023. The nomination was handed in by prof. Piotr Gliński, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

 
She was appointed the ICC Director in 2018, succeeding prof. Jacek Purchla.

Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik graduated art history at the Jagiellonian University. She took part in scholarships programmes organized by the US Department of State  and Tokyo University for Foreign Studies. She has worked at the ICC since 1996. In 2018 she was the national coordinator of European Year of Cultural Heritage. In 2022 she was selected for the Europa Nostra Council and the RIHA (International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art) board. She is a member of: Association of Art Historians, Towarzystwo Miłośników Historii i Zabytków Krakowa [Society of Lovers of History and Monuments of Krakow], ICOM International Council of Museums and the Civic Committee for the Restoration of Kraków Heritage. She sits in the Museum Councils of: The Ethnographic Museum of Kraków, Museum of Photography in Kraków, Museum of Kraków, and MOCAK. In 2018 she was awarded the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit and in 2020 the Cross of the Knight of the Order for Merits to Lithuania.

 

Her interests and research include: cultural heritage of Central Europe, management of cultural heritage, Polish cultural policies on national and municipal level.
