Mature for art. In the neighbourhood. On the contemporary art scene in Krakow

2022-02-11, 11:00 a.m.

Join us for another meeting organised as part of the “Mature for Art” series. The lecture, which will take place on February 11, will address the works of Dobiesław Gała. Dobiesław Gała is an artist with long-lasting links with Krakow and the local Academy of Fine Arts. Krakow, next to its numerous historic monuments and collections of old masters, is also a place with an exciting contemporary art scene. In addition to events organised by cultural institutions and art academies, it also includes activities organised by informal and sometimes ephemeral artistic collectives, as well as independent exhibitions. During the lecture, “In the neighbourhood. On the contemporary art scene in Krakow,” the audience will learn about the works of selected Krakow artists and about several non-institutional initiatives and venues where contemporary art is presented.

The lecture works as an introduction to the exhibition “Poles of Inaccessibility. Dobiesław Gała”, which we will be on view at the ICC from February 24, 2022.

The lecture will take place on February 11, 2022 at 11.00 in the Ravens Hall of the International Cultural Centre, 25 Main Market Square. Free admission. The lecture will also be streamed live via Zoom. In order to receive a virtual invitation, please send your application to the following address:
