On November 25-26, 2021, the International Conference "Protecting the cultural heritage against particular hazards – climate, environment, pandemic and fire risks. Best practices" will be held in Krakow. The International Cultural Centre is a co-organizer of the conference, and Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, director of the ICC, is the moderator of the session "The cultural heritage facing the 21st-century threats – challenges, courses of action".

The event is addressed to the owners and managers of historic buildings, people involved in the protection of monuments, representatives of rescue and security services, people interested in the safety of people and property, the use of modern technology in securing monuments, and representatives of government and local government institutions dealing with this subject. The topics discussed this year include, among others protection of cultural goods during armed conflicts and after disasters, new challenges for the protection of cultural heritage posed by pandemic threats, as well as climate and environmental changes, new challenges and legal and organizational solutions in the protection of monuments and new forms and methods of protection against extraordinary threats to collections museums, libraries and archives.
