On Saturday, October 9, the ICC inaugurated the next edition of the Heritage Academy - post-graduate studies devoted to the management of cultural institutions and the promotion of cultural heritage.

The studies were established in 2001 by the International Cultural Centre and the Małopolska School of Public Administration at the University of Economics in Krakow. In 2021/2022, classes will be held in a hybrid form - partly on site in Krakow, partly online.

The audience of the 16th edition was welcomed by Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, director of the ICC, and the first virtual lectures were given by prof. dr hab. Andrzej Szromnik (Marketing of cultural heritage objects), prof. dr hab. Piotr Krasny (Unwanted heritage - selected issues in the field of art history) and dr Dominik Ziarkowski (Heritage and tourism).

The Academy of Heritage is a postgraduate study program intended not only for people who run cultural institutions on a daily basis, but also for specialists working in cultural institutions, tourist operators, teachers, museologists, as well as owners of historic buildings and investors. Classes on the methods of protecting cultural heritage and managing its resources allow for the deepening and updating of the necessary knowledge - applicable financial and legal regulations, economic, social and political issues that form the basis of a modern philosophy of heritage protection. The lecturers are practitioners who successfully manage large museums. They advise students on specific solutions, how to effectively raise funds, as well as how to communicate well with the audience.
