The ceremony of the unveiling of a memorial plate

On Friday, November 20, 2015, at 12.00 am the “Ravens Hall” at Rynek Główny 25 in Krakow hosted the ceremony of the unveiling of a memorial plate celebrating the speech given by the former Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki, which marked the official beginning of the International Cultural Centre. The event was attended by Izabella Cywińska – the Minister of Culture in Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s cabinet – and the member of the Council of Founders of the ICC Foundation and the Mayor of the City of Krakow, Professor Jacek Majchrowski.

The ceremony of unveiling anticipated the 25th jubilee of the International Cultural Centre, which will culminate at the turn of May and June 2016. For 2016 we have planned an international conference Krakow and Its World, the exhibition Max Ernst. The Ornithologist’s Dreams, as well as a special double issue of Herito magazine and Claudio Magris’ book titled On Democracy, Memory and Central Europe.

The memorial plate was designed by one of the most acclaimed contemporary Polish sculptors, Józef Polewka.
