Walking the city: traces of Turkish culture

2018-07-07, 11:00 a.m.
“Not until a Turk waters his horse in the Vistula, will Poland be revived” – this ancient augury by the Cossack prophet Vernyhora will be a signpost for our walkers as they follow the trail of Turkish culture. We will peep into Krakow’s nooks and crannies looking for ties between Poles and Turks. The attendants will discover the identity of King John III Sobieski’s spy, and learn why general Lubomir Rayski adopted “Turk” for his alias.

Please assemble in front of the Turkish House at 31 Długa Street. Approximate duration: 2 hours.
