A walk with Dr. Karolina Grodziska

Karolina Grodziska – has worked since 1980 at the Polish Academy of Sciences Library in Krakow (now the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences Library), has been its director since 1995, and editor-in-chief of "Rocznik Biblioteki" since 1996. She is the author of a number of scholarly and essayistic works on Krakow cemeteries, including the book Krakowianki zapomniane. O niezwykłych paniach pochowanych na cmentarzu Rakowickim [Forgotten women from Krakow: on extraordinary ladies buried at the Rakowice Cemetery] (2011), awarded the Krakow Book of the Month prize. She also conducts research documenting burial places of Polish émigrés. Another line of her interest is the fi gures of merited but often forgotten citizens of Krakow.
