On May 4, at the ICC headquarters, representatives of MURKRAK Spółka z o.o. and the management of the International Cultural Centre in Kraków signed a contract for the modernization and adaptation of new spaces within our institution. The ICC renovation is intended to serve our audience and make the ICC space more responsive to their needs. The work includes renovation of the front facade, adaptation of the former Sphinx restaurant premises to the ICC’s needs and renovation of the roof of the Panoramic Hall.

The agreement, signed at the ICC on May 4, 2026, concerns construction and conservation work as part of the project at 25 Main Market Square in Kraków, carried out as part of the “Modernization and Adaptation of the Ground Floor of the Ravens House and Renovation of the Technical Infrastructure of the International Cultural Centre in Kraków” project. This project, which is crucial for our institution, is made possible thanks to funding from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment (FEnIKS) Program 2021–2027.

This meeting, which was so important for the ICC, was attended by Zygmunt Murdza, a partner at MURKRAK; Piotr Murdza, a proxy for MURKRAK; and Katarzyna Kojara, Paweł Osmęda, and Tomasz Kamuda from SPDV Sp. z o.o., which provides investor supervision, legal services and financial settlement services for the project. On behalf of our institution, the agreement was signed by ICC Director Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik and Deputy Director for Organizational Affairs Piotr Bąk. Also in attendance were Marzena Daszewska, Program Director; Anna Kępińska, FEnIKS Project Coordinator at the International Cultural Centre; and Dr. Mariusz Soczówka, Deputy Head of the Administration Office.

All these changes are intended to increase access to culture. The project includes, among other things, integrating the ground floor of the building into the institution’s functional layout and giving it a new cultural function—a bookstore, a café, and educational rooms will be established there. Plans also include the modernization of selected spaces and technical installations, the purchase of modern equipment, the removal of architectural barriers and training initiatives to enhance the team’s skills in serving visitors with special needs.

Total value of the project: PLN 13,541,096.08

Co-financing from the ERDF: PLN 8,744,388.51
