Plenary meeting of the Social Committee for the Restoration of Kraków Monuments

On 27 March 2026, a plenary meeting of the Social Committee for the Restoration of Kraków Monuments was held at the headquarters of the Kościuszko Mound Committee. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key projects relating to conservation and revitalisation work, as well as the results of the measures taken last year.

During the SKOZK plenary meeting, a funding plan from the National Fund for the Restoration of Krakow’s Monuments for 2026. The meeting was also attended by Agata Wąsowska-Pawlik, Director of the International Cultural Centre, who has been associated with the SKOZK since 10 March 2021, when she received from President Andrzej Duda the letter of appointment to the Committee. Also present was Prof. Jacek Purchla, appointed to the SKOZK by decision of the President of the Republic of Poland in 1990. 

The assembled participants also discussed the challenges and needs in the field of the renovation and financing of Kraków’s historic monuments.

Within the framework of five operational priorities (I. Key projects, II. Public utility buildings, III. Religious buildings, IV. Residential and commercial buildings, V. Burial chapels, gravestones, cemetery monuments and landscaped green spaces), SKOZK awarded funding for 124 projects for the year 2026. The report was delivered by Director Joanna Florkiewicz-Kamieniarczyk, who presented the scale and significance of the activities undertaken, whilst Prof. Bogusław Krasnowolski spoke in more detail about the call for proposals for the new funding period.
