The ICC is improving accessibility for staff with special needs

We are taking another step towards making our institution more open and accessible! The International Cultural Centre in Kraków is participating in the project “Universal Design for Culture – Accessibility in Cultural Institutions”, funded by the European Union. Thanks to this project, we will be working to more effectively involve people with disabilities in our projects and activities as employees, collaborators or volunteers.

We are delighted to announce that the International Cultural Centre in Krakow is a beneficiary of Task No. 2 of the project “Universal Design of Culture – Accessibility in Cultural Institutions”, which is funded by the European Union under Measure 3.3 “Systemic Improvement of Accessibility” of Priority III “Accessibility and Services for People with Disabilities” of the European Funds for Social Development Programme 2021–2027.

This is a programme preparing people with disabilities for internships, work placements, volunteering and employment in cultural institutions. Its aim is to develop the capabilities of cultural institutions in integrating people with special needs into their activities in the areas of employment, cooperation and volunteering. The project aims to streamline existing procedures, organisational arrangements and communication methods within our institution.

We view our participation in this project as an opportunity to strengthen our efforts in the areas of inclusivity and accessibility and to build a cultural institution that is open to people with diverse needs, both as recipients of our cultural offerings and as members of our team.

The project is being implemented by the National Centre for Culture in cooperation with the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons. More information about the project. The total budget for the project implemented by the National Centre for Culture is PLN 29,694,500. Of this:

• PLN 24 503 901,40 (82.52% of eligible expenditure) comes from European Funds,

• PLN 5 190 598,60 comes from the state budget.

The project is being implemented between 1 October 2023 and 31 March 2027.
