We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition presenting the work of Constantin Brâncuși, led by Jakub Kornhauser. Together with the poet and co-founder of the Center for Avant-Garde Studies at the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University, we will look for new forms of expression and living matter in the presented works.

The Romanian artist, considered one of the fathers of modern art, introduced abstraction and organic simplicity into his sculptural works. The exhibition “Brâncuși. Sculpting with Light” is an attempt to delve into his creative process, to examine how he perceived the world and matter, as well as how he used light and shadow. These are the issues we will also try to explore during the guided tour with Jakub Kornhauser, an expert on Romanian culture.

For Constantin Brâncuși, photography was not just a simple activity documenting his sculptural work. On the contrary, it gave him the opportunity to look deep into an object, illuminate its essence, and finally, transfer it into a different context. During the tour, we will look at the Romanian artist's photographs and search for new forms of expression that transform the dead and immobile into living matter.

Guided tours of the exhibition will allow visitors to view the exhibition from different perspectives. The guides will share their interpretations of Constantin Brâncuși's work and provide context that may help visitors discover their own meanings during this unique exhibition.
