Grant under the FEnIKS program for the ICC

The International Cultural Centre in Cracow has received a grant under the FEnIKS program – European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027. The funds will be used for the comprehensive modernization of the ICC headquarters at Market Square 25. The primary objective of the project is to create a new space for culture and social activities, which will be created on the entire first floor of the ICC and which will be a kind of invitation to the institution and its showcase.

Objectives and effects of the project:


The aim of the project is to make the ICC an even more open and accessible place for a variety of audiences and to fully respond to their needs. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement the ICC with a bookstore, a café and educational halls that meet the standards of a modern institution, as well as to thoroughly modernize the space and eliminate architectural barriers and restrictions on access to cultural offerings. Thanks to the expansion and development of the program, the ICC will reach a wider audience and will more actively and effectively carry out activities disseminating knowledge about cultural heritage, popularizing its value and strengthening the role of culture in society.    


Project title:


Modernization and adaptation of the first floor of the Ravens Houseand renovation of the technical infrastructure of the headquarters of the International Cultural Centre in Cracow.


Tasks, activities that will be carried out under the project:

Thanks to a grant under the FEnIKS program – European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027, the ICC will undergo a modernization process, which will include:

– incorporating the first floor of the building into the functional layout of the headquarters and giving it a new cultural function – supplementing the ICC headquarters with a bookstore, café and educational rooms,

– thorough modernization of some spaces and technical solutions already applied many years ago,

– purchase of equipment and technology to expand the groups of recipients of the realized offer,

– eliminating architectural barriers, as well as restrictions on the accessibility of the offer,

– raising the competence of the staff of the ICC, including training to broaden the skills of the team in serving recipients with special needs. 


As part of the project, the following tasks will be carried out:


1. Construction works, conservation works, restoration works at the headquarters of the ICC, the 
Ravens House.

– Renovation of the front elevation of the Ravens House.

– Reconstruction of the gallery rooms in the ICC building, with internal installations: central heating, electricity, mechanical ventilation.

– Renovation of the Ravens Hall, foyer and elevator lobby.

– Renovation of the glass roof of the Panoramic Hall of the ICC annex building.

– Replacement of passenger lifts.

– Adaptation of rooms after the restaurant to the needs of the ICC.

 

2. Purchase of equipment and furnishings necessary to conduct cultural and educational activities and to achieve the goals of the project.

– Purchase of equipment and supplies for the ICC Gallery (including a lighting and sound system).

– Purchase of equipment and furnishings for the educational room.

– Purchase of equipment and furnishings for the Ravens Hall.

– Purchase of counters, station induction loop, signage for the blind and visually impaired, elevator for people with disabilities, visual information system.

– Induction loop in the Panoramic Hall.

 

3. Soft activities aimed at developing the competence of the staff of the ICC, expanding international activities and expanding the promotion of the institution's activities


– Improving the competence of the staff of the ICC:

  • training in strategic and operational management,
  • training in accessibility, cultural education and marketing,
  • training for the entire team to acquire knowledge and skills to respond quickly to unexpected situations in interpersonal relations, to provide assistance to another person,
  • training to expand skills for responsible use of digital tools (cyber security) and to help develop pro-environmental attitudes in the team.


– Cooperation with a foreign partner – Museum Umeni Olomouc (Museum of Art in Olomouc):

  • providing substantive know-how support to ensure proper implementation of the project and achievement of the established indicators,
  • involvement of own resources,
  • exchange of experience,
  • knowledge transfer,
  • supporting the Employer's curatorial team with their experience in improving their competence,
  • conducting online lectures with specialists from the Partner's team from another country,
  • conducting an information campaign on the participation of the Partner from another country in the project,
  • ensuring participation of the Partner from another country in consultations on the policy of social participation and provision of space to social partners.


4. Information and promotion activities widely reaching the target groups, informing about the sources of support, the objectives of the project, spreading awareness of the contribution of European Funds to the project. 


5. Conduct educational and dissemination activities on cultural heritage: implementation of 141 new cultural events per year, including 55 online or hybrid events.


6. Target groups – increasing their involvement, opening up to the special needs of the audience:


– People with disabilities

– Families with children of school and preschool age

– Seniors

– Students

– Working people without children 

– People at risk of social exclusion

– Representatives of national minorities

– Professionals and enthusiasts

– Tourists
