Recruitment for the 20th edition of the Academy of Heritage

You are invited to participate in the 20th edition of the Academy of Heritage postgraduate program. The course, conducted by the ICC and the Cracow University of Economics, will include classes and meetings with experts and representatives of the most active cultural institutions in Poland in the academic year 2025/2026.

TheAcademy of Heritage includes more than 300 hours of classes and 16 weekend meetings in a hybrid mode (stationary and online). The study prepares graduates for modern operations in cultural institutions and for wise management of heritage resources, both tangible and intangible. The Academy of Heritage classes take the form of exercises, seminars, lectures and field classes. They are conducted by qualified personnel who specialize in the creation and organization of exhibitions, management of large museums and collections, conservation of works of art and protection of cultural heritage.

The postgraduate program will update knowledge, addressing the use of AI in the field of culture, but also exploring topics related to the problem of returning lost or illegally exported works of art in Polish and European law. Participants of the Academy of Heritage will also take a “behind the scenes” look at cultural institutions, learning the principles of their financing and management. They will also learn the secrets of the conservation of works of art and will be able to preview the work of experts at selected contemporary conservation projects.

The 20th anniversary edition of the Academy of Heritage will be special. It will be inaugurated by a ceremonial convention at the International Cultural Centre in Krakow with a lecture by a special guest. It will also be attended by members of the Academy of Heritage Alumni Association. The meeting will be open to all who wish to learn more about the postgraduate studies conducted by the ICC.

The ICC has been conducting postgraduate studies within the framework of the Academy of Heritage since 2001. Since then, 19 editions have been implemented, with more than 430 participants. The program is aimed at employees of cultural institutions, tourism operators, historic preservation services, teachers, museum professionals, as well as owners of historic buildings and investors.
