We invite you to the next edition of the event at the ICC Library, where publications on the history and identity of Central Europe, art, architecture and cultural heritage await to be opened and discovered.

Library Celebration at the ICC

To mark the 23rd National Library Week, the International Cultural Centre is sharing its rich resources and invites you to make use of them in the reading room at our headquarters. From May 8–15, 2026, at the ICC Library, you can register for free, renew your account, and, above all, explore the extensive collections related to the art, culture and identity of Central Europe.

Library Week is a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting reading and libraries, which has been held since 2004. Its goal is to highlight the role of reading and libraries in improving quality of life, education, and increasing interest in books. This year’s theme for Library Week is: “Library. You open. You discover”. The event is organized by the Polish Librarians’ Association.

ICC Library Collections

The ICC Library’s collection includes Polish and international academic literature on cultural heritage and new approaches to its management. In particular, our collection includes publications on the history and theory of culture, the history and identity of Central Europe, art, architecture, urban planning, the management of historic cities, the preservation of monuments, cultural heritage in the context of economics, ethnography and the traditions of European regions. The collection also includes books on national minorities and intercultural dialogue, which are such an essential part of the ICC’s activities. Significant collections within the library include Galician works, 18th- and 19th-century prints, and cartographic collections, including German occupation editions of several hundred topographic maps of Polish territories.

Since 2022, the ICC Library has been using the ALMA system, and the PRIMO search engine is available. In 2023, we launched a terminal for the free digital lending service for academic books and journals, ACADEMICA.

We warmly invite you to visit, register, and explore the ICC Library’s extensive collection!
