All these actions, up to now, have been carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in close co-operation with the Management for the Historic Environmental Protection of Lviv Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Katedra ormia\u0144ska we Lwowie i jej tw\u00f3rcy || zwiastun wystawy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WRh7Nte25vw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jan Henryk Rosen<\/strong>\u00a0(1891\u20131982) grew up and was educated in Paris and Lausanne, but his formal artistic education was never completed: he learned to draw and paint in his father\u2019s workshop. For some time he served as a secretary to Ignacy Jan Paderewski, accompanying him during the negotiations in the Nations League in Geneva, which were decisive for the final shape of the Polish state, just about to be reborn at that time. For one year (1922\u20131923) he worked as an official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw, yet he gave up this post to take up painting. In the first half of the 1920-s, he created small-sized paintings with religious subjects, inspired by medieval art and the lives of saints (especially with\u00a0&#8220;The Golden Legend&#8221;\u00a0of Jacobus de Voragine). These were paintings which amazed critics and art lovers, including archbishop J\u00f3zef Teodorowicz, who proposed that Rosen make monumental paintings in the Armenian cathedral. This oeuvre opened for him the path to a career as a church painter, and also guaranteed him the nomination to the post of professor at Lviv Polytechnic (1930\u20131934).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36049\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/P18_7032_katedra_ormianska_190611.jpg 1050w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">***<br><strong>After the display at the ICC, the exhibition was presented in many other places.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2016 it was shown in the Lublin Museum in Lublin (February-March), the Museum of Architecture in Wroc\u0142aw (June-September), the Municipal Cultural Centre in Jaros\u0142aw (September), the Museum in Tykocin \u2013 A Branch of Podlaskie Museum in Bialystok (September \u2013October), The Gorka Castle Museum in Szamotu\u0142y (November) and in the Pomeranian Dukes\u2019 Castle in Szczecin (December 2016 \u2013 January 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2017 some subsequent displays were organised in Sch\u00f6n Palace in&nbsp;Sosnowiec (April-May) and in the Copper Museum in Legnica (June-September). In response to the initiative of the Polish Embassy in Armenia, the ICC prepared an Armenian-language version of the exhibition. It was displayed in the National Gallery of Armenia in Yerevan (April), in Mher Abeghyan Museum in Etchmiadzin (June), in Jermuk (October) and in the Geological Museum in Yeghegnadzor (October-November). This last exhibition was opened, among&nbsp;others, by Mr Jaros\u0142aw Sellin, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p This is one of the most important works of Polish sacred art of the interwar period, which has not yet been broadly presented.
