This time, we will examine how the meetings, discussions and exchange of experiences during the International Congresses of Modern Architecture (CIAM) shaped the history of modern architecture. Together, we will explore how ideas, debates, as well as friendships and relationships, influenced the form of architecture during this period.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The International Congresses of Modern Architecture (CIAM \u2013 Congr\u00e8s Internationaux d&#8217;Architecture Moderne), established in 1928, became one of the most important platforms for the exchange of ideas and collaboration amongst modernist architects. They created a space for international debate, but also a network of professional and personal relationships, in which joint projects, discussions and friendships were reflected in the history of modern architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of a lecture linked to the exhibition <a href=\"https:\/\/mck.krakow.pl\/en\/wystawy\/czas-przelomu-sztuka-awangardy-w-europie-srodkowej-1908-1928\/\">\u201cYears of Disarray: Art of the Avant-garde in Central Europe 1908\u20131928\u201d<\/a> (8 March 2019 \u2013 9 June 2019), we will examine CIAM not only as a professional organisation and a forum for formulating new ideological principles for architecture, but also as a community shaped by people, their connections and their mutual relationships. Studied art history at Jagiellonian University, Universit\u00e4t Wien and Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin. Graduate of the interdisciplinary study program Environment-Technology-Society (UJ). Author of scholarly articles on 20th century art and architecture and publications in exhibition catalogs and journals. Co-editor of an anthology of \u201cimage\/body texts\u201d and publication \u201cComposing Space. Sculptures of the avant-garde\u201d. Co-author and curator of the artistic and scientific program \u201cExercising Modernity\u201d (Pilecki-Institut Berlin).
