The discussion will be based on extracts from two books by Serhiy Zhadan – “Sky Above Kharkiv” and “Arabesques”. We will discuss how Zhadan describes Ukraine during wartime, how literature records the experience of violence, everyday life and memory, and how the language of storytelling changes in a reality where war becomes part of ordinary life.

The event will be moderated by Dr Paulina Małochleb.
