For five days, staff of Ukrainian cultural institutions, selected by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Informational Politics, participated in a seminar at the ICC and attended numerous study visits in museums of Krakow. They visited eg. MuFo, Wawel Royal Castle, the Archaeology Museum, and the Museum of Krakow. During the seminar i.a. \u017banna Komar, PhD and Micha\u0142 Wi\u015bniewski, PhD gave lectures during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lectures and study visits had touched upon the reconstruction of historical monuments, managing memorial sites, and setting up the standards for care for the sites from the UNESCO World Heritage List. The training was based on verified and implemented by the ICC educational formats, especially\u00a0the post-graduate studies at The Heritage Academy<\/a>\u00a0and the international summer\u00a0educational programs V4 Heritage Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of the project came to life as an effect of the ICC dialogue with the representatives of the Ukrainian culture sector. The main spark came from the Ministry of Culture and Informational Politics of Ukraine. The first edition of the Academy had a pilot nature, and the experiences collected during it will help to design the correct study form, which could be replicated in the following years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants work in such institutions as the Historical and Cultural Reservation \u201cAncient Zvenyhorod,\u201d the National Historical and Architectural Reservation in Brzezany, the Sightseeing Museum in Zaliztsi, the Sightseeing Museum in Berezne, \u201cNa Unterwaliu\u201d Museum and Culture Centre, and the Historical and Cultural Reservation \u201cBilsk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-financed by a grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Kultura Inspiruj\u0105ca 2023 programme. This project is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Informational Politics of Ukraine and the Historical and Cultural Reservation \u201cAncient Zvenyhorod\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Culture Centre has been working towards enhancing the professional competence of cultural sector staff. From 6 to 10 November, the ICC conducted the training project The Academy of Heritage for Ukraine.
