In the heart of Krakow #2

Why is Lajkonik jumping around the Main Square? Are Krakow pigeons actually enchanted knights of Prince Henry Probus? The Main Square is a scene of numerous legends and a stage for several monuments.

Adam Mickiewicz Monument, the largest and most important among them, commemorates the poet’s 100th birthday and is familiar to anyone who visited Krakow. Few people know, however, that there was a time when it went missing... The other side of the Cloth Hall is known for Eros bendato, a sculpture presented to the city by Igor Mitoraj, a globally renowned artist who graduated from Krakow’s Academy of Fine Arts and later lived and worked in Italy.
