"Krzysztofory" Palace — treasures of the devil Boruta

At the beginning of the 20th century, for a short time Szczepański Square became a place that competed with the Market Square. Between these two city squares there is the "Krzysztofory" Palace.

The tenement house is a focal point that brings together the most important episodes from the history of Krakow, it is also a stage for several urban legends. This is where Mr. Twardowski lived, and the devil Boruta tempted Krakow’s misers with his treasures. The palace is also the place where the post-foundation construction in Krakow began, and Marshal Piłsudski recruited his legionnaires. No wonder then that the Krakow Museum found its home here, caring for the tangible and intangible heritage of the city.
