Accessible Sunday at the International Cultural Center promote integration and enable broad participation in cultural life. Thanks to this program, all visitors - regardless of their needs and abilities - have the opportunity to fully experience the exhibitions and events organized by the ICC.

It is not only an opportunity to visit, but also a space for common dialogue and learning about history.

During the exhibition "Socmodernism. Architecture in Central Europe during the Cold War” two Sundays have been planned. Available:

Audio-described tour of the exhibition "Socmodernism. Architecture in Central Europe during the Cold War”.

Is socialist architecture only housing estates? Definitely not! At the exhibition we will see space saucers, rocket towers, UFO bridges, pyramid hotels, tent churches and telescopes mosques. Nearly 400 objects from Central Europe, brutalist wedding palaces, futuristic collective farms and almost perfect cities. What has been underestimated for years now shows its value and unique character.

 

Presenter:

Regina Mynarska - Graduate of the Jagiellonian University. Audio describer with many years of experience, coordinator of accessible events, accessibility trainer, author of ETR texts.

Participation in the event includes an entry ticket to the exhibition of PLN 5. Tickets are available at the MCK Gallery box office.

Seat reservations are required on the Festival Organizer's website.

 

Event availability:

The event venue is free of architectural barriers.

During the event, you can rent an FM system with a portable induction loop at the gallery ticket office. Guest service stations (reception on the ground floor and the shopping mall's ticket office) are equipped with induction loops. You can also use the service of an online Polish Sign Language interpreter.

In the building, you can use the TOTUPOINT system to support orientation for people with visual disabilities. The list of markers with descriptions of the spaces can be found HERE.

On request, we offer an assistant service from the nearest public transport stop. Such a need should be reported by August 29 by phone or text message to 784 032 228 (Daniel Krawczyk, accessibility coordinator) or by e-mail: dostepnosc@mck.krakow.pl

Place: International Cultural Center in Krakow, Rynek Główny 25.

People with disabilities are entitled to a free ticket every day of the week (based on the Disabled Person's Identification Card).

The assistant of a disabled person visits the exhibition free of charge.

Words and brushes - Family space workshops

Workshops combining elements of art classes with learning Polish and Ukrainian. A family, creative meeting during which the youngest will develop their manual skills and learn about the works presented at the exhibition "Socmodernism. Architecture in Central Europe during the Cold War” and discover new concepts related to art and cultural heritage.

Classes using tactile aids, adapted to the needs of people with visual disabilities. During classes, educators will perform audio description on an ongoing basis.

The theme of the workshops refers to the fascination with space and the influence it had on art and thinking about socialist realism architecture.

No need to reserve seats

The classes are free.
