Educators:

Beata Bujak-Szwaczka

A passionate Krakow city guide, also active in Municipal Museum branches, an educator at the ICC in Krakow, and a long-time activist regarding city development and heritage. She graduated with a Master's degree in Tourism from the University of Physical Education in Krakow. She has worked as an instructor and counselor. From 1996 till 1998 she was coordinating foreign cooperation of Krakow Voivodeship at the International Relation Office at the Provincial Office in Krakow. She was responsible for the preparation and realisation of visits of i.e. Mrs. Hillary Clinton and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Krakow.

 

Marcin Krotla

Art historian, museum and anti-discrimination educator. Besides the ICC in Krakow, he collaborated with Forum for Dialogue, MuFo Museum of Photography, MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Wawel Royal Castle. In his work as an educator, he loves the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the audience, build relationships and share his passion.

 

Aleksandra Machaczka

Graduate of Art and Media and Art&Design at the Faculty of Art at the Pedagogical University of Krakow. Currently studying Modern Art at the same university. During this course, she mainly focuses on posthumanism theory, queer theory, feminism, and ecology. She develops her skills in the scope of education and the animation of culture. She works also as an exhibitions curator and organises art workshops.

 

Joanna Majewska-Grabowska

Professional translator and storyteller. She realises her passion for storytelling working as a lecturer at Jagiellonian University and other institutions: ICC, MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art, and MuFo Museum of Photography. Conducts webinars and guest lectures about Ukrainian culture and identity. Co-author of “Do Ukrainy w 20 minut” podcast, recorded on behalf of the ICC. As a translator, she collaborates with “Herito,” “Dwutygodnik,” Batory’s Foundation, Reportage Institute, KBF, and Culture.pl magazine. Her significant achievements as the translator include: “Planeta Piołun” by Oksana Zabużko, “Dlaczego w ukraińskiej sztuce są wielkie artystki,” “Ukraina” and “Wyrwać się z przeszłości” by Jarosław Hrycak.

 

Iwona Malota

A graduate of History and Cultural Studies – Mediterranean Studies Faculty at the Jagiellonian University. She continued doctoral studies at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, and finished post-graduate studies of pedagogical training for teaching. Iwona Malota is a licensed tour guide in Krakow, the author of museum lessons and city walks scenarios. She is an educator and guide at Wawel Royal Castle and in a number of cultural institutions in Krakow.

 

Viktoriia Markovska

She did her Master’s degree in the Faculty of Historical Tourism and Cultural Heritage at the Pedagogical University of Krakow. Viktoriia Markovska is an educator at the ICC, she organises educational art workshops for children speaking Ukrainian and Polish. She works as a guide on city tours and exhibitions. She is interested in the Polish-Ukrainian relationship and in how social media influence tourism.

 

Hanna Martynenko

A graduate of Intercultural Studies and Social Communication at the Jagiellonian University. Enthusiast of location-based games, quests, activating touring methods, and literature podcasts. Co-author of the monography “Participatory interpretation of heritage: cultural activation of the Ukrainian refugee community in Krakow: activity scenarios”, from which the inclusive game “Alphabet of Krakow”, designated for the Ukrainian community in Krakow, originates. She has cooperated with the ICC for almost a year, she collaborates also with the Jagiellonian University, realizing grants and science projects.

 

Anna Sokulska

A long-time educator, collaborating with National Museum in Krakow, Ethnographic Museum, MuFo Museum of Photography, and the ICC. She guides both standard and thematic exhibition tours and city walks, conducts museum lessons, prepares and conducts workshops for children. Anna Sokulska works with special needs groups, both children and adults. She is a licensed city guide and Krakow enthusiast. She collaborates with PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society) and writes texts for guidebooks.

 

Beata Wolszczak

A graduate of Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna (now the Pedagogical University) in Krakow. She teaches history and civics. She was a guide and educator at the Warsaw Uprising Museum, then in the Polish History Museum. Author and co-author of educational materials for students and teachers. Interested in history, especially in the material culture and everyday life of the previous centuries.

An artist, Andrzej Pilichowski Ragno, will talk about a photographic polyphony – more than 200 photographs by 30 artists. During an authorial guided tour we will together look for a crucial moment, immortalised in the photographs, which taken out of its historical context can affect us, leave a trace.
