Power of Heritage seminars

“Heritage is a function, and therefore an option of development,” says Gregory J. Ashworth. So what is the impact of cultural heritage on its social and economic surroundings? Is heritage an important element of the life of local communities and individual persons, and if so, why? What strategies should be adopted at the local and regional level to make full use of the potential at hand?

Answers to these and other questions will be sought by experts invited to participate in a series of seminars organised by the ICC in several Polish cities (including Gdańsk, Białystok, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz).

The aim will be to show the importance of heritage and the role it can play in promoting social and economic development of a given place to a wider audience. The interdisciplinary approach and the diverse experiences and knowledge of the invited experts will allow us to prove that when investing in heritage we invest in our future.

Seminars prepared within the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
