Walking in the footsteps of women in Galicia

2014-09-13
We look back on Galicia as an extraordinary national and political entity. On its artistic life with sentiment. On its political life with curiosity. On its poverty with empathy. On its entanglement in World War I with concern. The time of Galicia was also the period of great social changes. But what about the place and role of women? What kind of changes did they experience? And, most importantly, how did they contribute to Galicia in the 19th and 20th centuries? The walk will introduce stories about, among others, Kazimiera Bujwidowa, Anna Bilińska-Bogdanowicz, Helena Modrzejewska, Maria Dulębianka, Olga Boznańska, as well as about female students of the Jagiellonian University and female workers.

An event organised in cooperation with the Women’s Space Foundation. Moderated by Anna Kiesell. Departure from the entrance to the ICC seat (Rynek Główny 25).
