“A woman’s work is never done”
The Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle Gallery

On September 10, 2013, an exhibition titled “A woman’s work is never done” will be officially opened in the Gothic Gallery of the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle in Szczecin. The Szczecin display will be a re-edition of the exhibition first organised by the International Cultural Centre and displayed at the ICC Gallery from April 26 till August 13, 2013. 126 prints from the collection of the Scientific Library of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow as well as some contemporary works will be made available to the Szczecin audience. The featured prints include a number of masterpieces by such celebrated masters as Albrecht Dürer, Lucas van Leyden, Rembrandt van Rijn, and William Hogarth. Relatively obscure works by female printers such as Geertruydt Rodhman or Magdalena de Passe will also be displayed.

This is the second joint initiative of the International Cultural Centre, the Scientific Library of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle which aims at introducing the masterpieces from Krakow collections to the Szczecin audience. In 2012, the Castle’s Gallery hosted the exhibition “Us and them. An intricate history of otherness”.
