The Ministry of Foreign Affairs kindly invites you for a debate on the Visegrad identity. The meeting will be open by Radosław Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The debate is organised as part of the 2nd Visegrad Cycling Race, which brings together V4 countries – Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

The discussion will address both the history and the concept of integration within the Visegrad Group, as well as its potential benefits and chances for the future. The meeting will bring together students of Wrocław universities and the students of the university of third age. The debate will be convened by Andrzej Jagodziński, the Head of the Polish Institute in Bratislava. Representatives of all Visegrad countries will participate in the panel:
  • Poland: Professor Jacek Purchla, the Director of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow;
  • Slovakia: Magda Vasaryova, the former ambassador of Slovakia in Poland, and the former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, at present an MP and the head of the Slovakian Institute for Cultural Policy;
  • Czech republic: Vaclav Burian, a poet, translator of Polish literature, Czech correspondent of Tygodnik Powszechny, the editor-in-chief of “Listy” magazine where Visegrad theme is continually present;
  • Hungary: Ádám Szesztay, the Director of the Department of Strategic Planning at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
