The most beautiful books

The publications of the ICC named
“THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOKS OF 2011”

Two publications of the International Cultural Centre have been named “The most beautiful books of 2011” by the jury of the 52nd Annual Competition of the Polish Association of Book Publishers “The most beautiful books of the year”. The titles selected by the jury are:
Happening against Communism by the Orange Alternative
Us and Them. An Intricate History of Otherness

Two other publications by the ICC Press, i.e. "50/20 Sketches and essays to mark twenty years of the International Cultural Centre" and "Hunting down Modernism. The Prohibited Arts in the Third Reich" have also been nominated to the prestigious award.
The bestowal ceremony will take place on May 11, 2012. The event will be held in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw during the 3rd Warsaw Book Fair.

Ms. Anna Komorowska, the wife of the President of the Republic of Poland, has taken honorary patronage over the competition. Annually organised by the Polish Association of Book Publishers, the competition hopes to promote Polish books abroad. The publications awarded with the title of “the most beautiful books of the year” will be presented and submitted to the following:
  • exhibitions which are companion events to the International Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany – “Buchkunst International 2012”,
  • “The Best Book from all over the World” competition held in Leipzig, Germany
