Prof. Jacek Purchla was awarded by the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary

On October 2, 2013, the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary was bestowed upon Prof. Dr. Jacek Purchla, the Director of the International Cultural Centre, by László Kövér, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary. The Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary is the highest state order of Hungary. The ceremony has taken place in the Embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Warsaw.

According to the verdict, this high state distinction was awarded to Prof. Dr. Jacek Purchla by the President of the Republic of Hungary in recognition of his services to “fostering and strengthening Hungarian-Polish relations: historical, cultural and scientific.” The International Cultural Centre, which Prof. Dr. Jacek Purchla has been continually managing since 1991, is a place where a dialogue in the field of culture between Poland and Hungary is particularly conducted by Prof. Dr. Jacek Purchla.
