The writer and society

2012-11-27 - 2015-06-13
A lecture by Victor Yerofeyev organised in cooperation with the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding is an inherent part of the tradition of debates about the culture of European countries held in the Ravens Hall.

Victor Yerofeyev is a writer, columnist and one of the initiators of Metropol, an underground literary magazine that published texts by Russian writers of various generations by evading censorship.
In Russian prose, Yerofeyev has a reputation of being a scandalmonger and provocateur. His works have a strong erotic charge, and contain sarcastic criticism of Russian history and myths. The current productions of Teatr Nowy in Krakow include “The Encyclopedia of the Russian Soul” based on Victor Yerofeyev’s novel under the same title.
Admission free. A lectures will be translated simultaneously from Russian
