The power of heritage - seminar in Krakow

2018-06-28, 6:00 p.m.
Is there a clash between the traditional, on site experience and the virtual one? Or perhaps on the contrary, they make the visitors experience complete? Is opening up of the collection online risky for the museum’s wellbeing, etc.? What strategies do Polish and European GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) institutions have to connect with their audiences as well as to encourage new audiences to engage?

These are the most important issues to be raised in a discussion between Maciej Dydo (Ministry of Culture and National Heritage), Marco C de Niet (Leiden University Libraries), Marianna Otmianowska (National Digital Archives) and Wacław Pyzik (Historical Museum of the City of Kraków). The debate will be chaired by Aleksandra Janus (Centrum Cyfrowe – Digital Centre).

The discussion is held as part of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and the Potential of Heritage seminar project run by the ICC. It is also part of the ICC Academy of Heritage Open Lectures programme.
