Giorgio De Chirico's art in the ICC

From October 16 till November 10, 2013, the Italian Institute of Culture will present costume and set designs by Giorgio De Chirico created for Pirandello and Salvini’s  staging of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s play titled “Joria’s Daughter”. The works will remain on display in the Gothic cellars of the International Cultural Centre in Krakow. The play directed by Luigi Pirandello and Guido Salvini had its premiere in the Roma-based Teatro Argentina in October 1934.

The exhibition will show not only drawings, but also reproductions of archival images and photos of the Vittoriale degli Italiani – a place where d’Annunzio worked.
