2017-04-24
On April 24, 2017 the Memorandum of cooperation on a unique exhibition project mapping Central European modernity between 1908 and 1928 was signed by the directors of four memory institutions from the Visegrad countries.

The Olomouc Museum of Art, Międzynarodowe Centrum Kultury Kraków, Galéria mesta Bratislavy, Janus Pannonius Múzeum Pécs, and Arbor Vitae publishing house have agreed on expert preparation and implementation of the exhibition Years of Disarray, Between Anxiety and Delight 1908–1928, which shall be opened in Olomouc on 20 September 2018 and which shall then be repeated in Krakow, Bratislava, and Pécs in 2019–2020.

The exhibition project shall constitute a part of the broader project 1918 │The Birth of the Modern Central European Citizen │2018, within the events of The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. It aims to commemorate an important historical turning point and, at the same time, a hundred year anniversary of a new political and cultural arrangement of the Central Europe after the demise of Austria-Hungary.  The exhibition shall provide a scholarly assessment and, for the first time ever, a synthetic presentation of the development of modern art in Central Europe in 1908–1928.
