On March 1–2, in Gdańsk, Poland, a two-day forum titled Together for a Just Future: Learning from Each Other through Social Dialogue on Diversity, Equality and Democracy will be held. The event is a common project of the Polish network of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The forum’s aim is to integrate Polish members of the network, as well as to create an opportunity for discussion and to share experiences in building an open society and developing Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
The REVERS Foundation, the forum’s major coordinator, and the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre, the forum’s producer, are supported by a consortium consisting of 15 members of the Polish ALF network and 3 members of foreign networks.
The forum will open with a presentation and discussion prepared by the International Cultural Centre in Krakow (coordinator of the Polish ALF network) on the historical, economic, political and cultural relations of Poland and the Mediterranean region.

As a member of the European Union, Poland takes active part in the creation and implementation of its actions, including European Neighbourhood Policy. Its involvement in the Eastern Partnership seems to be an obvious element of Poland’s foreign policy, while working for the Union for the Mediterranean might require a broader explanation and a presentation of the specific context. The debate held with the participation of the authors of the publication entitled Does Poland lie on the Mediterranean? will fill the gap in the perception and understanding of the relations of our country with the EuroMed region. The aim of the debate is to explain the role of Poland in one of the most important recent European projects – the Union for the Mediterranean – and to present the relations of our country with the culture (in its broadest sense) of the Mediterranean Basin.
